Strange Woman is a 19 year old hard rock singer with a contemporary punk attitude and electrifying energy. Born in Edinburgh and living in Manchester, they have fallen in love with performers who move, dance and express themselves onstage.
From learning to play guitar at 8 years old, to playing onstage with major inspiration Yungblud in 2022, Strange Woman is influenced by alternative icons such as Cassyette, Lady Gaga and Måneskin.
Strange Woman showcases sexy, snarling, gritty riffs as well as a signature rock scream that adds to the rawness of performances.
Lyrics centre around love, gender expression, queerness, and navigating youth culture in a socially volatile climate. Paired with alternative fashion, grunge makeup and an exhilarating stage presence, they create a chaotic yet welcoming environment to all.
Behind the persona is Finlay Kenney, who currently studies at the Royal Northern College of Music on the Popular Music course.
They are now gigging original material under the stage name Strange Woman with a full band around Manchester, hoping to release music and gig further afield in the near future.
